There are four states of matter, Solids, liquids, gases, and plasma.
Solid is a state of matter, in which the energy of an object is low and the molecules only vibrate a little.

Liquid has more energy than solid, liquid is not as packed together as solid so it can move around more and take shape of it's container.
Gas has more energy than water. Gas has more room to move, so it moves freely about and travels to different areas.
Plasma is the last state of matter. Plasma is electrically charged gas. Things that are plasma include lightning, the aurora borealis, and the sun. Different gases make different colors.
